Lazarus the Soul Winner

As a Christian, we should all know the miraculous story about Lazarus found in John chapter 11, if not I will summarize. Lazarus was a friend of Jesus and he was sick. Jesus was told of his sickness but didn’t go right away to see him. He knew that his sickness was not unto death but for the glory of God. When Jesus finally arrived Lazarus had been dead for four days. Martha, Lazarus sister said, “Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.” But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.  Jesus responded by saying, “Thy brother shall rise again.” Surely Lazarus did rise again after Jesus prayed to His father this prayer: “Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.” Jesus then cried with a loud voice Lazarus come forth, and he did. What a great testimony for Lazarus to have which caused many Jews to believe on Jesus (John 12:10-11).

Our testimonies are valuable, not just to us but to others, so share them and make them known and use them to witness and win souls. Psalms 105:1-2 states, O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. {2} Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works. It is important that we use the time that we have while the doors are open (Revelation 3:8) to share Jesus with as many as possible. The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise (Proverbs 11:30).
