Cup of Salvation

(Psalms 116:13) “I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.”

What is salvation?

It is defined as deliverance from sin and its consequences. Romans 3:23 states, For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God, and our sin is worthy of death- “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).

Do we need salvation?

Yes! For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. {17} For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved (John 3:16-17). He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him (John 3:36).

Would you like to take the cup of salvation?

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. {10} For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10).
