Walking in the Spirit

As Christians, we are to die daily so we don’t fulfil the lust of the flesh. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). How do you not fulfil the lust of the flesh? By saying no to the flesh and choosing to walk in the Spirit. How do you walk in the Spirit? By feeding your Spirit daily with the word of God. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God (Luke 4:4 KJV). Also, by prayer and giving thanks always (Ephesians 5:18-20 KJV).

I believe that walking in the Spirit daily will change our lives in so many ways, and this is why I have created a Woman’s Prayer Journal. This journal will help you walk in the Spirit daily. It focuses on reading your Bible daily, reflecting on what you have read, praying for others, and giving gratitude to our God. I pray that we all live meaningful, spiritual, and joyful lives.

Details on the release of the Prayer Journal coming soon.

The Book of Life

Aren’t you glad your name is written in the Book of Life? The book that has all the names of those that has accepted and will accept Jesus as their saviour.

Hallelujah! Make a joyful noise unto the LORD. He loves us so much that He made a way for us to escape His wrath. For those that don’t know the way that I’m talking about, His name is JESUS. The only begotten son of God (John 3:16-18).

1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

Let’s rejoice and thank God that we are saved and our names are written in the Book of Life. I just wanted to reflect on how good our God is, while hoping whoever reads this blog does the same – reflect and rejoice.

All Scriptures are KJV only.

Delighteth in Mercy

(Micah 7:18-19) “Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. {19} He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.”

I just wanted to share this scripture that I was reflecting on because it made me smile. Our God is so amazing. All that He is and all that He does is amazing. He has done so much for us, in spite of how many times we have been disobedient. His mercy endureth forever!

Bucket List

Recognize this type of list? It is a Bucket List, a list where you hope to achieve or accomplish certain things in your lifetime.

Example Bucket List:

1.      Visit the Grand Canyon ✔️
2.      Take a month-long vacation ✔️
3.      Write a book ✔️
4.      Master a new skill ✔️
5.      Road trip from state to state ✔️
6.      Receive a big promotion ✔️
7.      Accept Jesus as LORD and                   Saviour

This list means nothing if you are unsaved. The greatest accomplishment, while you are alive, is accepting Jesus as your LORD and Saviour. Nothing can compare to it. If you are not saved, please add and check off saved on your bucket list before it is too late.

You may think your life is so complete and accomplished with a check mark by all the things you have done, but John 10:10 says:

John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

There is no life without Christ. In Ecclesiastes 2:1-11, Solomon wrote about all the things he had and accomplished, but realized it all was vanity. It meant absolutely nothing.

Ecclesiastes 2:1-11 “I said in mine heart, Go to now, I will prove thee with mirth, therefore enjoy pleasure: and, behold, this also is vanity. {2} I said of laughter, It is mad: and of mirth, What doeth it? {3} I sought in mine heart to give myself unto wine, yet acquainting mine heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life. {4} I made me great works; I builded me houses; I planted me vineyards: {5} I made me gardens and orchards, and I planted trees in them of all kind of fruits: {6} I made me pools of water, to water therewith the wood that bringeth forth trees: {7} I got me servants and maidens, and had servants born in my house; also I had great possessions of great and small cattle above all that were in Jerusalem before me: {8} I gathered me also silver and gold, and the peculiar treasure of kings and of the provinces: I gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts. {9} So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem: also my wisdom remained with me. {10} And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour. {11} Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.”

Mark 8:36 says, For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

In Derision

(Psalms 2:1-5) “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?  {2} The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,  {3} Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.  {4} He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.  {5} Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.”

If you take a look at the world  you will see that  Psalms 2:1-3 explains a reason why it is the way that it is. We see those in authority (Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”) coming together against the Lord and everything that He stands for.  Their doing all they can to push their ungodly agenda, being used by the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience (Ephesians 2:2). We witness the changing of laws, the moral decline of society, and people calling evil good and good evil which is spoken of in Isaiah 5:20. The world we live in is completely manipulated (for those who understand what I mean by saying this). By the way don’t believe everything you see in the media.

All the while as it states in Psalms 2:4, God is sitting in the heavens laughing and will have them in derision.

The definition of derision according to King James Pure Bible Search Software is:

DERISION, n.

1. The act of laughing at in contempt.

2. Contempt manifested by laughter; scorn.

3. An object of derision or contempt; a laughing-stock.

They think they are in control, but oh how God laughs. Psalms 59:8 also speaks of how the LORD will laugh; But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision. You don’t have to be in the secret society meetings to know what they are discussing the Bible already told you their agenda. They think they are winning now, but destruction is at their end. Psalms 9:15-16 states, “The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.  {16} The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands.

It gives me solace to know that God is in control and will bring upon them their own iniquity and cut them off in their own wickedness (Psalm 94:23). In Psalm 46:10 the LORD says, “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth”.

Only the Stump

I laugh every time I read the beginning of 1 Samuel Ch. 5 when the Philistines stole the Ark of Covenant from the Hebrews and brought it into the house of Dagon and placed it next to Dagon, the god they worshipped. They came back in the morning and found their god Dagon with head and palms cut off, leaving only the stump.

(1 Samuel 5:1-4) “And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Eben–ezer unto Ashdod.  {2} When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.  {3} ¶ And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.  {4} And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.”

Our God can’t be compared or mixed with other gods. Who is like the Lord? There is none like the Lord. Exodus 15:11 states this fact;  Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? We know that all other gods are idols;  Psalms 96:5 states, “For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.” Psalms 135:15-18 states, “The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.  {16} They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;  {17} They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.  {18} They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.”

I just wanted to share my reading of the day so we all can have a good laugh and boast about the God we serve (Psalm 44:8).

(Isaiah 45:22-23) “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.  {23} I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.”

KJV Only!

One may ask why am I KJV only and I answer with 2 Corinthians 2:17, “For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.” Today’s modern bibles have altered/changed the word of God. Please do your research.

Denial that Jesus is God

For dedicated revisionists to succeed in their attack on Christ, the first thing necessary for them to do is create doubt about His divinity. By removing the person of the Trinity from Him, they then can add other gods, or deny the Triune God.

1 Timothy 3:16  One of the strongest statements in the Bible of Christ’s deity.

KJV – “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, and seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”

NIV: Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

NASB: By common confession, great is the mystery of godliness: He who was revealed in the flesh, Was vindicated in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Proclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world, Taken up in glory.

NRSV: Without any doubt, the mystery of our religion is great: He was revealed in flesh, vindicated in spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among Gentiles, believed in throughout the world, taken up in glory.

NIV, NASB, NRSV – Change ‘God’ to ‘He’ denying Jesus is God.

1 Corinthians 12:3

KJV: “Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.”

NIV: Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

NASB: Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed”; and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

NKJV: Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

NRSV: Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says “Let Jesus be cursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except by the Holy Spirit.

NIV, NASB, NKJV, NRSV – ALL change ‘THE LORD’ to ‘Lord.’ This simple little deletion of a  word subtly denies the deity of Christ again. Remember Satan is very subtle (Genesis 3:1).

Denial of the Incarnation of Christ (that God became Man)

1 John 4:3

KJV: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

NASB: and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God, and this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.

NIV: but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

NLT: If a prophet does not acknowledge Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist. You have heard that he is going to come in to the world, and he is already here.

NRSV: and every spirit which does not confess Jesus is not of God. This is the spirit of antichrist, of which you heard that it was coming, and now it is in the world already.

The new perversions deny that God (Christ) has come in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16, Acts 2:30).  This blatant corruption alone shows that the new perversions are antichrist. “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son” (1 John 2:22).

These were just a few examples of scriptures from a few of the many versions. If you are using a NIV, ESV, NASB, NLT, NRSV, NKJV et al., please do your research and compare the verses. Don’t use the excuse of I can’t understand the King James Version, the other versions are easier. The changes made do not make it easier, but causes confusion and God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). Besides we all have the Holy Spirit so just ask for understanding and He will give it to you. Is God not big enough to preserve His word? God promised to preserve His word. Psalms 12:6-7 says, “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.  {7} Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.” There is so much more to uncover on this topic and I barely scratched the surface, so again please do your research.

Don’t Be Offended

(Matthew 13:20-21) “But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; {21} Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.”

In Matthew 13:20-21 Jesus describes in the parable of the sower people who hear the word and quickly receive it with joy, but have no root and once tribulation or persecution occurs they are offended. In the parable of the sower the seed (the word) can fall upon different types of ground. So, we are the ground, the word is the seed, and the seed must take root and grow. How does it take root and grow you may ask? The seed takes root and grows by reading your Bible daily. It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). The Word of God is your daily food and nutrition for growth. Jesus is the Word as stated in John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” He also is the root, Isaiah 53:2 “For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.” We see from scripture that Jesus is the Word and the root, so we need to read the Word in order for us to be rooted.

Matthew 13:21 says that once tribulation or persecution occurs these people are offended. For those that think once you become a Christian your life will be all roses, no problems, and no headaches this simply is not true. In John Ch. 15 and continuing in Ch. 16 Jesus talks to His disciples on what to expect in this world after His departure so they wouldn’t be offended (John 16:1 “These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.”). Jesus warned them of being thrown out of synagogues and being killed by those who think they are doing the service of God (John 16:2-3). He offered these words of comfort in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

We can look at the testimony of many in the Bible and see that it wasn’t easy to follow Christ. One man in particular, Paul went through much tribulation and persecution. He was beaten, imprisoned, stoned (but survived,Acts 14:19-20), and finally killed for the cause of Christ. The disciples knew that they must continue in the faith and through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God (Acts 14:22) and we must do the same. 2 Timothy 3:12 says; Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. It doesn’t say we might it says we shall, so we must expect it.

Please “Don’t Be Offended” when tribulation and persecution occurs, take the time now to read and study your Bible daily so you can be rooted and grow. Jesus says in Luke 7:23, “And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.”
